Emerging Talent - Mechanical/Aerospace Internship (Aerospace)

Location: Full-time onsite in Long Beach, Hawthorne, or Mojave, California, United States. The internship lasts 12 weeks. Candidates must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.

Salary: $35–$42 USD per hour

What you will do

• Design and build space hardware and software for human-rated space stations and space infrastructure.
• Contribute to engineering work in ECLSS, propulsion, solar, structures, thermal systems, or related disciplines.
• Support analysis, testing, modeling, and simulation activities according to the assigned engineering area.
• Apply engineering problem-solving to challenging real-world aerospace development projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and hiring teams across different technical areas.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program at an accredited college or university.
• Studying mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Available to work full-time onsite in Long Beach, Hawthorne, or Mojave, California.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing because the role involves access to U.S.-controlled information and items.
• Strong engineering problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and basic knowledge of engineering and equipment.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and work in a self-directed manner.

Nice to have

• Technical experience from extracurricular projects, volunteering, personal projects, laboratory research, or prior internships.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA for 3D modeling and simulation.
• Prior knowledge of engineering analysis tools.
• Positive attitude and team spirit.
