Senior Manager, AI Engineering Platforms

Location: Columbus, OH, United States. Workplace type: Office; specific work arrangements are provided by the hiring team.

Salary: $93,000–$189,000 annual base compensation, plus applicable incentive compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and execute the strategy, roadmap, and target architecture for the enterprise AI Engineering Platform.
• Lead adoption and operations for Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, and related Google Cloud AI services.
• Own agent orchestration, model and reasoning services, knowledge retrieval, memory and state management, runtime execution, governance, security, and observability.
• Create reusable frameworks, SDKs, accelerators, engineering standards, and self-service automation.
• Establish reliability, monitoring, support, cost optimization, security, and compliance practices for the platform.
• Partner with Architecture, Engineering, Data, Infrastructure, Security, Risk, and Product leaders while developing high-performing teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of related technology experience.
• At least 5 years leading engineering, platform, or technology delivery teams and at least 3 years building, operating, or modernizing cloud platforms.
• Experience with large-scale technology initiatives, roadmaps, platform strategies, target-state architecture, and highly available, secure, resilient services.
• Experience with software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, APIs, cloud-native architecture, observability, monitoring, incident management, and service reliability.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, influencing, coaching, and team development skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and AlloyDB.
• Experience with generative AI, agentic systems, AI/ML platforms, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, Agent Development Kit, and Agent Runtime.
• Experience building enterprise platforms, paved roads, reusable services, frameworks, and engineering accelerators.
• Experience working with architecture, information security, risk, compliance, and regulatory teams.
• Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience.
