Data Center Design Manager (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA; Bellevue, WA; or Sunnyvale, CA, United States

Salary: $160,000–$195,000 annually plus bonus and Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

• Lead trade-off analysis across data center space, power density, reliability, and cost.
• Translate commercial requirements, delivery timelines, and customer commitments into design specifications.
• Evaluate power distribution, UPS systems, air, liquid, and immersion cooling architectures, and structural loading constraints.
• Build cost models comparing total installed cost and cost per kW, rack, and square foot.
• Develop reusable design standards and reference architectures to accelerate deployment across sites.
• Run cross-functional design reviews and assess vendors and emerging data center technologies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data center design, engineering, or infrastructure planning.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical data center systems, including power distribution, UPS, cooling, and structural or floor loading.
• Experience translating cost and timeline constraints into engineering decisions with commercial or business teams.
• Experience building and using quantitative cost models.
• Excellent communication skills across engineering and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-density AI/ML, HPC, or GPU infrastructure.
• Advanced degree.
