Mission Operations Engineer (Satellite Operations)

Location: Remote from an approved location; access to export-controlled information is subject to U.S. government ITAR/EAR eligibility requirements.

Salary: $140,000–$195,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Execute simultaneous satellite missions and operate an expanding mission manifest.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to execute satellite operation plans and maintain service continuity.
• Analyze telemetry and satellite health reports to assess performance and identify potential issues.
• Troubleshoot anomalies and malfunctions, applying corrective actions to restore satellite functionality.
• Plan and coordinate orbit corrections, station-keeping, and other satellite maneuvers.
• Support satellite integration and the transition from launch to operational service.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of project or industry experience operating or automating complex systems.
• Experience with Python, Julia, or another high-level scripting language.
• Strong communication, teamwork, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Must meet applicable ITAR/EAR eligibility requirements for access to export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience automating complex systems.
• Operations experience with spacecraft, ground stations, or complex communication systems.
• Knowledge of satellite subsystems, including power, propulsion, communications, and payload.
• Familiarity with satellite-operations standards and ITU and FCC regulations.
