TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing): Designing, developing, integrating, and testing precision mechanical modules and tools for semiconductor lithography systems with an accent on engineering analysis, CAD design, prototyping, and requirements traceability. Focus on leading technically complex module development, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces and suppliers, and executing verification, validation, and qualification activities for production-ready solutions.

Location: On-site in Wilton, Connecticut, United States. The role requires regular on-site presence for teamwork, collaboration, innovation, training, and in-person meetings. Travel may be required up to approximately 10%.

hirify.global develops and manufactures precision lithography systems and subsystems used by leading semiconductor manufacturers to produce advanced microchips.

What you will do

  • Specify, design, develop, integrate, and test complex mechanical modules and tools for lithography systems.
  • Develop engineering concepts, conduct feasibility studies, perform analysis, and make technical tradeoffs within performance, cost, safety, compliance, and schedule constraints.
  • Create detailed CAD designs, engineering drawings, prototypes, specifications, and high-level designs.
  • Coordinate requirements, interfaces, dependencies, configuration management, and verification criteria across multidisciplinary teams and suppliers.
  • Define and execute validation and test approaches, improve procedures, and provide qualification evidence for release readiness.
  • Lead technically complex work packages, manage risks and dependencies, and guide a small group of peers through technical execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing mechanical engineering concepts and solutions, resolving technical issues, and realizing designs against system or module specifications.
  • Ability to plan and execute verification and validation, support product integration, and maintain requirements traceability and technical documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary groups, senior leadership, suppliers, and customer-facing stakeholders.
  • Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under United States Export Administration Regulations before beginning work.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Wilton and, where required, in cleanroom and laboratory environments.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or PhD.
  • Experience working with cleanroom environments and ISO 9000/14000 standards.
