Engineering Technician (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Design, test, check out, fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, and assemble electronic and electromechanical systems, prototypes, circuitry, test equipment, tools, and fixtures.
• Test and troubleshoot system- and component-level electrical and mechanical issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform complex system installations, new product introduction installations, and field upgrades.
• Investigate issues, compile data, document findings, and recommend changes that improve product performance.
• Write technical reports, test procedures, logbooks, and other engineering documentation.
• Provide technical input, standard-work training, and guidance to junior technicians while collaborating with Engineering and Manufacturing.

Requirements

• Advanced specialized expertise in an analytical or scientific area relevant to complex technical work.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes.
• Experience testing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process systems against engineering and manufacturing specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with limited documentation and little precedent.
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Gloucester, Massachusetts, perform physically demanding work, use hand and power tools, and operate heavy machinery such as forklifts.
