Sr. Systems Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: North Syracuse, New York, United States; occasional travel of approximately 10–20%

Salary: $107,200–$163,300 per year, depending on geographic region

What you will do

• Design and optimize standard and customized products and systems to meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, schedules, and technical specifications.
• Architect solutions, develop algorithms, and demonstrate working solutions in embedded systems and PC applications.
• Document design constraints, technical risks, schedules, costs, and project status.
• Lead verification and validation activities, including test planning and evaluation of test results.
• Support technology roadmaps, process improvements, recruiting, mentoring, and collaboration with external partners and universities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree.
• Experience creating and delivering system-level products, including embedded systems.
• Hands-on hardware and software problem-solving experience with exposure to development best practices.
• Ability to translate requirements into test plans and test results, define testing approaches, and use oscilloscopes and standard electronics laboratory equipment.
• Strong technical communication, cross-organizational leadership, collaboration, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced global team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with imaging, vision systems, or RFID products.
• Experience with continuous performance improvement initiatives.
