System SW Validation Engineer (Embedded)

Location: Plano, TX, USA; onsite, remote work is not available

Annual pay range: $115,000–$150,000, plus bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead software and system validation planning and execution for embedded products, applications, and solutions.
• Drive system-level software decisions and identify and mitigate technical risks affecting robustness, usability, and user experience.
• Plan and execute prototype bring-up, bench testing, and product evaluation.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware/software, validation, and product engineering teams on hardware-software integration.
• Support technical documentation, reference designs, development platforms, and customer adoption.
• Gather software requirements, review code, communicate findings, and mentor team members on engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• 5–7 years of embedded firmware/software development experience across multiple IoT application segments.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Embedded C, with production experience on MCU-based platforms.
• Understanding of software architecture, design principles, behavior-driven development, unit testing, motor control software, and real-time systems.
• Experience with host-side technologies such as RTOS, C#/.NET, Python, Qt, WPF/WinUI, and interfaces including USB, UART, SPI, I2C, or Ethernet.
• Strong communication, organizational, debugging, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing Agentic Tools.
• DevOps experience with JIRA, Confluence, and GitLab.
• Hands-on experience with host-side technology stacks and multicultural engineering environments.
