Claims Manager, General Liability Team (Insurance)

Location: Richmond, VA, United States; hybrid. US work authorization is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $97,520–$167,640 per year, plus potential eligibility for the annual incentive plan.

What you will do

• Manage a team of Claims Examiners handling a broad range of general liability claims.
• Confirm coverage, direct new loss assignments, and review claims correspondence, reports, reserves, and settlements.
• Recommend reserve changes and discuss loss activity with Underwriting, Actuarial, and executive stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Claims Practices regulations and internal performance objectives.
• Evaluate examiner and team performance, provide feedback, identify training needs, and prepare operational reports and budgets.
• Travel to claims offices, mediations, trials, and conferences as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of claims handling and claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have or be eligible to receive a claims adjuster license.
• Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to work collaboratively and deliver strong customer service.
