Salary: CAD 146,400–183,000 annually, plus 20% target incentives

What you will do

  • Negotiate and lead strategic sales, revenue, technology, and services agreements for Canadian public sector customers.
  • Advise senior executives, Sales, and business stakeholders on government contracting, risk, procurement, compliance, and commercial issues.
  • Support compliance with Canadian and international contracting laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Create contracting policies and train employees on their application.
  • Apply legal and business judgment to complex transactions while balancing commercial objectives, procurement requirements, compliance, and risk.
  • Resolve contracting issues, existing relationship matters, and pre-litigation disputes in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor or equivalent; relevant education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 7–10 years of progressive experience in a related field.
  • Lawyer qualified to practice in at least one Canadian province or territory.
  • Substantive knowledge of Canadian public sector procurement rules, technology contracts, licensing, data privacy and security, and intellectual property.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance; Reliability Status or higher is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication, attention to detail, pragmatic judgment, active listening, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with public sector technology transactions and procurement rules in jurisdictions outside Canada, particularly other Commonwealth countries.
  • Active Canadian government security clearance at Reliability Status or higher.
