Lead Learning Experience Designer (AI)

Location: Hybrid at US office hubs in Austin, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle

Salary: $169.6K–$200K base compensation in San Francisco and New York City; $152.7K–$180K in other US locations, plus equity

Writer develops an end-to-end enterprise AI platform that helps organizations build and deploy AI agents grounded in company data and powered by enterprise-grade large language models.

What you will do

• Design and build focused, standalone 15–45-minute courses covering specific workflows, role-based skills, tools, and timely AI topics.
• Own the full learning design lifecycle, including needs analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and publishing.
• Deliver live and virtual training, adapting content to audience questions, skill levels, and industry workflows.
• Repurpose content across on-demand, live, microlearning, and longer-format delivery modes.
• Identify emerging learning needs through product changes, customer signals, and internal feedback while triaging incoming requests.
• Partner with product, product marketing, customer-facing teams, subject-matter experts, and other learning experience designers to prioritize and ship high-impact courses.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or a related field.
• Experience designing and shipping high-impact learning in compact 15–45-minute formats and rapid development cycles.
• Strong prioritization, triage, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Excellent live facilitation skills for both in-person and virtual training.
• Proficiency with learning experience design tools, authoring tools such as Parta, LMS platforms such as Skilljar, presentation tools, video production tools, and basic design tools.
• Portfolio with 3–5 excerpts, including at least two self-scripted, recorded, and edited course excerpts, one AI teaching sample, and one live facilitation example.
