Electric Distribution Standards Engineer (Entry, Staff, Senior, or Principal)

Salary: $70,000–$156,600 per year, depending on engineering level

What you will do

• Apply engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to electric distribution assignments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including designs, calculations, reports, testing materials, standards, and procedures.
• Provide technical support for operations, maintenance, testing, diagnostics, regulatory activities, commissioning, and inspections.
• Coordinate or lead project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning.
• Support bid and proposal evaluations through technical analysis and calculations.
• Coordinate interns, drafters, technicians, and other personnel while mentoring less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum; electrical engineering is preferred.
• Relevant experience varies by level: 0+ years for Entry, 2+ years for Staff, 5+ years with EIT/FE or 7+ years without for Senior, and 9+ years with PE or 15+ years without for Principal.
• EIT/FE is preferred for Entry and Staff and required for Senior candidates with fewer than 7 years of experience.
• PE registration is required for Principal candidates and may be required for Senior engineers depending on business needs.
• Role location: Denver, Colorado, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with communications related to distribution utility equipment such as relays, switchgear, SCADA, and protective devices.
• Familiarity with utility engineering technology and software.
