Power Distribution Technician (High Voltage)

INEOS Olefins & Polymers operates an olefins and polymers manufacturing site with high-voltage electrical distribution infrastructure.

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, and replace three-phase power distribution components and relay hardware up to 69kV.
• Prepare and execute switching orders to safely isolate work areas and support reliable power distribution.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on substations, switchgear, transformers, motors, VFDs, UPS systems, and motor control centers.
• Inspect and maintain overhead power distribution lines and identify system hardware issues.
• Troubleshoot failed or underperforming equipment, determine root causes, and identify electrical reliability improvements.
• Support engineering projects that install or modify high-voltage systems and verify correct equipment installation and settings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant high-voltage experience above 480V in an industrial plant environment.
• Electrical Journeyman designation, NCCER Electrical Certification, or NETA certification.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical standards used in the petrochemical industry, including applicable API, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, ISA, IEEE, and NETA codes.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment and working with high-voltage substations and switchgear up to 69kV.
• Ability to read P&IDs, relay drawings, electrical one-lines, loop drawings, and technical equipment documentation.
• Knowledge of safe switching practices, preventive maintenance planning, and inspection of transformers, breakers, switches, motors, and overhead lines.
