What you will do

• Conduct load studies for planned and emergency work to assess capacity and support safe switching operations.
• Analyze distribution data and recommend solutions that reduce risks to facilities and the public.
• Commission Smart Grid equipment, including Distribution Automation, Volt/VAR Optimization, and Advanced Distribution Management Systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning and serve as a resource for system operators.
• Collaborate with field employees and respond to urgent load study and commissioning requests outside normal business hours when needed.
• Prepare technical reports, studies, analyses, project forecasts, and planning inputs.

Requirements

• Entry-level qualification for new graduates with a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• A bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology may satisfy the degree requirement; a VP or above may waive the ABET requirement.
• Ability to apply engineering theory, analytical techniques, and problem-solving methods to assignments of moderate complexity.
• Ability to understand relationships between distribution systems and component equipment.
• Ability to coordinate work, provide guidance to lower-level employees, communicate technical information, and make decisions within established policies and procedures.

• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future Professional Engineer licensing.
