Software Engineer III (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid work with occasional travel

Salary: $108,496.89–$149,183.22 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, and integration of complex software components.
• Debug advanced software issues and improve software performance and quality.
• Define software requirements and specifications with stakeholders.
• Review code, maintain technical documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure code quality and adherence to engineering standards.
• Support software integration with hardware systems and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
• Practical knowledge of engineering principles and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with agentic coding tools.
• Current, active Secret U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• Aerospace and defense industry experience.
• Knowledge of C, C#, C++, HTML, Java, Python, and Bash.
• Experience with requirements tracking, code review, static analysis, repositories, and automated build tools.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, or Spiral methodologies and data structures.
• Understanding of compliance, security, and ethical use of AI coding tools.
