GNC Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco; working in the office five days per week is essential

Salary: Level 2 — $140,000–$180,000 annually; Senior — $170,000–$230,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop and implement guidance, navigation, and control systems for autonomous aircraft.
• Participate in aircraft trade studies and define system architectures, control schemes, and mechanisms.
• Build and maintain six-degree-of-freedom dynamics and simulation models for control design, analysis, and validation.
• Develop tooling to automate control design, Monte Carlo analysis, and simulation validation.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers and support flight and ground test operations.
• Conduct post-flight and test reviews, correlating aircraft performance with analysis to improve predictions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in aerospace engineering, software engineering, robotics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional GNC development experience for an aerospace or autonomous-vehicle program.
• Strong background in flight dynamics, modeling, and simulation.
• Proficiency in Rust, C++, or a comparable systems language, plus Python for analysis and tooling.
• Experience with version control, code review, testing, and continuous integration.
• Willingness to work in the San Francisco office five days per week.
