What you will do

• Report and describe news stories for broadcast, including breaking news, severe weather, and developing events.
• Enterprise unique, relevant stories and pursue deeper, investigative angles.
• Build source networks, research topics, vet tips, and gather information for broadcast and publication.
• Conduct interviews, shoot video, and edit packages, voice-overs, and soundbites.
• Review copy for accuracy, style, grammar, and editorial compliance.
• Engage viewers through social media and participate in public events and community initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Fluent English and excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to ad-lib.
• At least three years of news reporting experience, depending on market size.
• Strong on-air presence and the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with social media and current newsgathering technology, including video cameras, editing equipment, and newsroom computer systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and flexibility to work any shift.
