Multimedia Journalist (Broadcast Journalism)

Location: La Crosse/Eau Claire DMA, serving western Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota, and northeast Iowa.

What you will do

• Produce local news content for live television broadcasts, digital platforms, and social media.
• Research, shoot, write, and edit daily news stories independently or with photojournalists.
• Create long-form and special reports for digital audiences and television viewers.
• Collaborate with producers, assignment editors, and anchors on coverage.
• Contribute story ideas and editorial input to the daily news planner.
• Build relationships with newsmakers, politicians, and residents across the coverage area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication, news writing, and visual storytelling skills.
• Proficiency with digital video cameras, commercial video editing software, and social media platforms.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. of equipment and remain seated, walking, or standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
