Reporter, NBC4 Washington

Location: Washington, DC; full-time on-site work at an hirify.global-designated worksite

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Enterprise, breaking, general, sports, and feature reporting for audiences across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
• Shoot, write, edit, and produce accurate, fair, and balanced news stories.
• Field-produce reports, conduct interviews, and present stories live on air from studio and field locations.
• Work as part of a multimedia journalist team and collaborate with photographers, producers, news managers, assignment editors, reporters, and anchors.
• Build local sources, investigate stories, and develop exclusive news opportunities.
• Create daily native content for the station’s social media platforms, mobile app, and website.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a television or multimedia reporter.
• At least 2 years of experience in newsgathering, reporting, and/or production.
• At least 2 years of experience writing, producing, and desktop editing.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Washington, DC.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required; candidates must be at least 18 years old.

Nice to have

• BS/BA in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Digital shooting and digital camera experience, non-linear editing, and experience with Dalet.
• Spanish language skills.
