TL;DR
Automation Technician (PLC) (Industrial Automation/Manufacturing): Troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, electrical infrastructure, printing presses, bindery machinery, and plant equipment with an accent on automation controls, drives, and industrial mechanics. Focus on leading root-cause analysis, improving equipment reliability, and executing preventive maintenance in a high-speed production environment.

Location: Onsite at 2525 Midpoint Dr, Edwardsville, Kansas, United States. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; shift work may be required during the February–June peak season. Relocation assistance is not offered; candidates must be able to work from the designated location without company-sponsored relocation.

What you will do

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC logic, automation controls, electrical systems, drives, servo motors, relays, and proximity sensors.
  • Install, test, maintain, and repair wiring, conduit, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, and motors.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for automation, controls, equipment reliability, and complex production issues.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain printing presses, folders, cutters, stitchers, binders, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, vacuum pumps, HVAC controls, and facility infrastructure.
  • Execute preventive maintenance, equipment upgrades, fabrication, welding, brazing, soldering, and plant repairs.

Requirements

  • One-year college or technical-school certificate in Mechatronics or Industrial Electronics, or 5+ years of related industrial maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • Ability to read and analyze complex electrical schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, and governmental regulations.
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, fractions, decimals, measurements, tolerances, and bar graphs.
  • Ability to work around fast-moving machinery, electrical-shock hazards, vibration, chemical fumes, airborne paper particles, and moderate-to-loud industrial noise.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hand tools, and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
