Instrument and Controls Technician (PLC/SCADA)

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, test, and modify PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS control systems.
• Respond to plant equipment downtime and help restore operations quickly.
• Install and troubleshoot field wiring, instruments, sensors, and control-system hardware.
• Calibrate and replace photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, pressure, temperature, and position sensors.
• Trace data and signals across controller networks and interpret control-system documentation.
• Assist with mechanical repairs and support plant maintenance activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma, equivalent qualification, or technical training.
• At least 3 years of controls-system maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read P&IDs, control schematics, wiring drawings, I/O lists, SAMA diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings, and design specifications.
• Ability to work at elevations, including exhaust stacks of approximately 250 feet, and in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver up to 100 pounds while working around noise, temperature extremes, steam lines, rotating equipment, and dusty or dirty environments.
• Successful completion of a company-provided pre-employment physical examination and drug screening is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ovation, Wonderware, and Allen Bradley.
• CEMS experience.
