Location: Columbus, Ohio, US; preference for being based at or near an existing manufacturing site or office, with remote candidates considered if they can meet travel expectations and maintain regular presence with site teams. Travel: 20–30% domestic and international travel to manufacturing sites, audits, PHA reviews, leadership meetings, and incident response activities.

What you will do
- Own and administer 13 of ’s 14 core Process Safety Management elements across the global manufacturing network, excluding Mechanical Integrity.
- Lead PSM training, governance, compliance, audits, incident investigations, PHA and HAZOP activities, Management of Change, operating procedures, emergency planning, and related programs.
- Use data analytics, leading indicators, audits, incident learning, and PSM maturity data to identify systemic risks and drive mitigation.
- Develop and manage the annual global PSM operating and capital budget, prioritizing investments by risk-reduction value.
- Build business cases, secure funding, and escalate significant unfunded process safety risks to executive leadership.
- Coach regional program managers and site partners while building accountability, technical capability, and continuous improvement across functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, environmental safety, or occupational safety.
- 10–15 years of progressive EHS, process safety, reliability, or operations leadership experience in manufacturing or a process industry.
- Deep knowledge of Process Safety Management and its core elements, including practical experience with OSHA PSM standards and multi-site compliance programs.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence leaders across functions and geographies without direct reporting authority.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to manufacturing sites as required.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in engineering, safety, or a related technical discipline.
- CSP, CCPS, or CMRP certification.
- Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or materials industries.
- Experience with PHA and HAZOP reviews, global standards, governance frameworks, leading indicators, capital business cases, and Mechanical Integrity integration.
