Director of Mechanical Services Engineering (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Hybrid role based in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, United States; travel as needed, anticipated to be less than 20%.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the local Mechanical Services Design team and contribute to U.S. leadership priorities.
• Set technical direction and governance for HVAC, black utilities, plumbing, compressed gas, and building control systems.
• Oversee engineering delivery from feasibility and conceptual design through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and qualification.
• Review design criteria, calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, P&IDs, equipment selections, and procurement packages.
• Direct equipment packages, bid evaluations, vendor coordination, design reviews, and factory acceptance testing.
• Build client relationships, coordinate with multidisciplinary and global stakeholders, and support proposals, presentations, and project pursuits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and an active Professional Engineer license.
• 15+ years of mechanical design experience in an engineering or design firm.
• Significant experience with pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biologics, or cell and gene therapy projects.
• Expertise in mechanical and building services design for GMP manufacturing, cleanrooms, laboratories, and utility-intensive facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, black utilities, plumbing, sustainability, life-safety codes, technical deliverables, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong client communication, presentation, decision-making, organizational, resource planning, budget, and schedule management skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in HAP, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• LEED accreditation.
