Aerospace Engineer III (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid environment

Salary: $108,496.89–$149,183.22 per year

What you will do

• Lead complex aerospace engineering and aircraft certification projects.
• Serve as the primary interface with regulatory authorities, including FAA and military certification organizations.
• Manage certification activities, including certification plans, compliance bases, methods of compliance, and supporting artifacts.
• Coordinate military approvals and provide guidance on certification requirements to internal and external departments.
• Participate in design and management reviews, including preparing and presenting PDR and CDR materials.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and compliance, and navigate certification challenges by proposing courses of action.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline, with typically 6 or more years of relevant experience; higher education may substitute for experience.
• Basic understanding of computer-aided engineering tools and certification planning processes.
• Experience with military certification programs using MIL-HDBK-516 and/or FAA certification standards under 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 27, or 29.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for employment because an active U.S. security clearance is needed.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience in the aerospace and defense industry or project management.
• Experience coordinating approvals with DoD certifying authorities, FAA Aircraft Certification Offices, ODA organizations, or DERs and unit members.
• Experience interpreting technical documentation and familiarity with aircraft flight testing.
• Ability to review information across multiple engineering disciplines.
