Director of ASIC Verification (AI)

Location: On-site in Santa Clara, California. Relocation assistance is available to one of the office hubs, including Santa Clara or Cambridge.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end verification strategy, methodology, coverage-driven closure, and tape-out sign-off for silicon, IP, and subsystems.
• Lead verification using UVM, formal verification, emulation, test-vector generation, and post-silicon bring-up support.
• Architect verification environments and test plans, review testbench code, and debug complex protocol, coverage, and bring-up failures.
• Recruit, lead, and develop a verification organization while maintaining hands-on technical ownership.
• Present verification readiness, metrics, risks, escalations, budget, and headcount needs to engineering leadership.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive ASIC or SoC verification experience, including 5+ years leading verification teams.
• Demonstrated experience writing verification code, building testbenches, closing coverage, and owning multiple advanced-node tape-outs.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed protocol IP such as Ethernet, UCIe, UALink, or comparable technologies.
• Experience across the ASIC/SoC lifecycle from microarchitecture through tape-out, including interconnect, I/O, and memory subsystems.
• Executive communication skills and experience managing technical risk, escalations, budget, and headcount on startup timelines.

Nice to have

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience building a verification team from zero at an early-stage startup while delivering milestones hands-on.
• Post-silicon bring-up, debug, and validation leadership experience.
• AI or datacenter accelerator experience, including familiarity with LLM memory and dataloader bottlenecks.
• Knowledge of DFT and its interaction with front-end verification.
