Principal Emulation Engineer (ASIC/SoC)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; fully in person. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Based in the San Jose area or open to relocation to the area.

Salary: $207,000–$230,000 per year, depending on experience, level, and business need. Additional discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits may be available.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and maintain emulation environments for complex ASICs and SoCs.
• Integrate RTL, transactors, protocol models, software, and test infrastructure for hardware-software co-simulation.
• Enable scalable and repeatable emulation workflows for pre-silicon validation.
• Verify and debug PCI Express Gen 3+, Ethernet, DDR, NVMe, SPI, I2C/I3C, and related interfaces.
• Analyze protocol behavior, functional coverage, performance, and corner cases across server, storage, and networking systems.
• Lead cross-functional debugging across design, verification, firmware, software, and systems teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8–12 years of experience supporting or developing complex SoC or silicon products for server, storage, or networking applications.
• High proficiency in SystemVerilog and hardware verification environments.
• Experience with hardware-software interfaces, co-simulation limitations, and effective debugging methods.
• Programming or scripting experience in Python, Perl, C, or similar languages.
• Authorization to work in the United States and availability to start immediately.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with Palladium, Zebu, Veloce, HAPS, FPGA prototyping, or similar technologies.
• Experience developing emulation models, protocol transactors, behavioral models, software drivers, or system-level validation infrastructure.
• Experience with non-UVM verification environments.
