Vice President, Commercial Underwriter - CRE & C&I

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $129,995–$160,581 per year, depending on job location; annual bonus/incentives and restricted stock may also be available.

What you will do

• Underwrite complex loan requests and renewals for working capital, commercial real estate, term, formula-based, and traditional asset-based facilities.
• Review loan structures, financial spreads, entity structures, collateral, market data, and reports to identify inherent risks.
• Prepare opportunity memos, loan presentations, administrative action memos, and annual reviews for Credit Administration.
• Analyze complex and interlocking financial relationships and assess financing requests against the bank’s credit culture and current economic trends.
• Gather information for senior management and Loan Committee approvals, meet with customers, visit loan sites, and negotiate loan terms and conditions.
• Mentor junior analysts on financial analysis, loan structure, covenants, risk identification, and credit-risk mitigation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Advanced commercial underwriting experience, including owner-occupied and investor commercial real estate.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations, deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and commercial banking products.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance requirements, rules, regulations, industry standards, and practices.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
