Business Banking Underwriter III (Commercial Lending)

What you will do

• Underwrite business banking loans and make sound credit decisions in accordance with bank lending policy.
• Review financial and credit application information, assess borrower risk, and manage an individual work pipeline.
• Handle complex credit structures and customer exposures of up to $4MM.
• Use single approval authority up to $3MM and underwrite credit exposures above $2.5MM where applicable.
• Support business banking production and assist with training and mentoring new hires and junior underwriting teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; a business-related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in business or commercial underwriting within a centralized lending environment.
• Experience handling high loan volumes and making credit decisions without additional signers is preferred.
• Strong risk assessment, organizational, planning, follow-up, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple tasks while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based resources.
