Senior Software Engineer, Storage Infrastructure (Go/Python)

Location: Remote in the United States; employees located near a hirify.global office are expected to work from that office 3 days per week.

Salary: $160,600–$200,800 USD annually for the US national range; other ranges apply to New York City, California, and San Francisco.

What you will do

• Build and maintain scalable systems for efficient access to large and growing datasets.
• Extend services for internal data search and image processing.
• Operate and tune Elasticsearch indexing for core datasets.
• Own service performance, monitoring, alerting, on-call operations, and incident response.
• Shape technical approaches, system design, architecture, and the team’s technical roadmap.
• Support engineers through code reviews, pairing, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 6+ years of Go development and 6+ years of Python development.
• Experience building production backend services, customer-facing APIs, and highly available, consistently performant systems.
• Experience monitoring and operating highly scalable cloud-native software.
• Experience with relational datastores such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and non-relational datastores such as Bigtable or Elasticsearch.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Copilot.
• Ability to lead system design discussions, drive architectural decisions, communicate effectively, and collaborate in a remote setting.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Experience with AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure and tooling.
• Experience working with geospatial data.
