Customs Import Compliance Specialist

Location: Brisbane, California, United States; onsite

What you will do

• Ensure the import department follows Customs compliance standards, operational policies, and procedures.
• Review powers of attorney, importer questionnaires, daily monitoring reports, customs rejections, and annual self-audit activities.
• Manage post-entry activities, including PSCs, protests, petitions, supplemental duty tenders, penalties, TIB entries, and related reporting.
• Monitor Customs and other government agency developments and communicate compliance issues to internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and deliver training for entry personnel based on audit findings, customs developments, and recurring compliance issues.
• Support automation and digital solutions using Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, M365 technologies, APIs, integrations, and AI-related tools.

Requirements

• College degree and Customs Broker’s License.
• At least three years of experience in U.S. Customs brokerage.
• Strong knowledge of 19 CFR Parts 1–199, HTSUSA, the current customs environment, and Customs business processes.
• Experience with CFIT, hirify.global’ import applications, and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of software development principles, data structures, APIs, integrations, system architecture, AI, machine learning, LLMs, and prompt engineering.

• Experience developing automations, applications, or digital solutions.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects.
• Experience in operations, logistics, finance, or enterprise shared services.
• Certifications in Microsoft Power Platform, Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, or related technologies.
