Materials Manager (Aerospace/Defense)

Location: Onsite in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; Monday–Thursday 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and every other Friday 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead material-handling activities across all value streams and supervise material handlers, shipping and receiving clerks, and other assigned staff.
• Maintain timely production-order issuance, material movement, inventory transactions, cycle counts, and accurate inventory records.
• Analyze ERP data to ensure production orders are opened, cancelled, and closed correctly.
• Prioritize team activities in support of the production plan and on-time delivery performance.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to optimize inventory settings and support customer delivery commitments.
• Resolve inventory inconsistencies, coordinate cross-functional investigations, and drive continuous improvement in materials workflows and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or operations.
• At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience working with an ERP system.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Salt Lake City and access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience with physical inventory movement, forklifts, hand trucks, or pallet jacks.
• Experience implementing automated storage and picking solutions.
• Experience in an AS9100 aerospace or defense environment.
• Basic understanding of FAR and DFARS.
