TL;DR
Materials Manager (Aerospace): Coordinating aircraft components, services, procurement, and material planning for efficient, accurate, and on-time delivery with an accent on supplier management, inventory control, cost reduction, and operational compliance. Focus on negotiating purchasing contracts, resolving shortages and order issues, analyzing spend, and supervising purchasing personnel in a high-pressure aviation environment.

Location: Kinston, North Carolina, United States. Full-time onsite role in an office and warehouse environment; travel up to 25%. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

What you will do

  • Coordinate and control the flow of aircraft components, services, and materials for on-time delivery.
  • Oversee AOG support, stock and indirect procurement, project procurement, and material planning.
  • Manage supplier screening, selection, negotiations, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Address material shortages, delivery delays, quality issues, order discrepancies, and invoice problems.
  • Analyze spending and procurement data to identify cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
  • Supervise purchasing personnel and collaborate with Maintenance, Customer Service, Sales, Safety, Finance, and Supply Chain Management.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
  • At least 3 years of aerospace or aeronautics experience with Part 145 or Part 135 experience.
  • Proven leadership, personnel management, negotiation, and collaborative working experience.
  • Experience with vendor and inventory management software and ERP procurement data.
  • Advanced Excel, financial analysis, planning, decision-making, mathematical, and technical data analysis skills.
  • English communication skills and legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship are required.
