Material Handler (Aerospace)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite, open to 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Salary: $52,300–$65,400 base pay per year.

What you will do

• Coordinate daily receiving, storage, inventory control, put-away, kitting, picking, packing, and outbound shipping activities for an assigned site and shift.
• Assign, prioritize, check, and train warehouse material handlers while serving as the shift point of contact when the Warehouse Supervisor is unavailable.
• Execute and audit SAP MM and SAP EWM warehouse transactions, including goods receipts, stock transfers, cycle counts, and shipment postings.
• Write and maintain version-controlled standard work instructions, SOPs, desktop procedures, and process workflows.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and transaction errors, coordinate root-cause resolution, and report logistics performance metrics.
• Support ERP/WMS enhancements, user acceptance testing, training rollouts, and continuous improvement across the logistics network.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related experience in aerospace, automotive, or another highly regulated manufacturing industry, including at least 1 year leading, training, or directing warehouse or material-handling staff.
• 2+ years of hands-on ERP/WMS transaction experience; SAP MM, SAP EWM, or SAP WM experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience writing technically accurate warehouse or manufacturing SOPs, standard work instructions, or process workflows.
• 2 years of experience in domestic and international transportation management.
• Strong organizational, communication, computer, Excel, ERP/WMS, and warehouse scanning/RF equipment skills.
• High school diploma or GED required; ability to lift 25 lb (11 kg) unassisted and visually distinguish colors.

Nice to have

• BS degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business.
• SAP certification or formal SAP MM, SAP WM, or SAP EWM end-user training.
• Forklift operation, Dangerous Goods/IATA certification, or Lean/Six Sigma experience.
