What you will do

  • Provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of avionics hardware for advanced electro-optical systems.
  • Drive system architecture and technology roadmaps for electro-optical sensors across orbital domains.
  • Architect and integrate complex electronics including FPGAs, microcontrollers, ADC/DAC systems, VPX modules, processors, imagers, motor controllers, and cryptographic devices.
  • Lead PCBA requirements, verification, validation, integration testing, and environmental qualification programs covering EMI/EMC, thermal vacuum, shock, and vibration.
  • Direct failure analysis, root-cause investigations, production manufacturing initiatives, design-for-manufacturing strategy, and yield optimization.
  • Mentor engineering teams and collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing partners, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent advanced experience.
  • 12+ years of progressive electrical hardware design experience in aerospace or another high-reliability industry.
  • Extensive experience with advanced PCBA design, high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits, FPGAs, ASICs, microcontrollers, ARM-based systems, and precision analog instrumentation.
  • Expertise in space-environment electronics, radiation effects including SEU/SEL, mitigation strategies, and flight-hardware qualification.
  • Strong experience with analog electronics, circuit analysis and simulation using SPICE and MATLAB, laboratory instrumentation, prototyping, and system troubleshooting.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing high-reliability aerospace hardware for thermal vacuum, shock, and vibration environments.
  • Advanced EMI/EMC compliance, testing, and mitigation experience.
  • Mastery of Altium Designer for schematic capture, multilayer PCB layout, and design reviews.
  • Experience with rigid-flex PCBs and electromechanical systems.
  • Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on rockets, spacecraft, optical systems, and mission-critical space hardware.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced environment focused on innovation, technical excellence, and challenging space missions.
  • Support the development of hardware for NASA, defense, intelligence, and other ambitious space programs.
  • Role may involve prolonged sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
