Strategy and Planning Principal (AI)

Salary: $130,700–$205,200 USD annually, plus potential bonus and/or equity for candidates in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead strategic analyses of market trends, customer needs, competitive shifts, and emerging opportunities for the Personal Systems business.
• Develop one- to five-year recommendations covering growth priorities, market positioning, operating models, and ecosystem partnerships.
• Build data-driven business cases, financial models, long-term plans, investment theses, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
• Structure analytical approaches, hypothesis trees, project plans, and executive-ready strategic narratives.
• Evaluate initiatives involving AI PCs, future-of-work experiences, services, software, ecosystem partnerships, and new growth areas.
• Align business, product, finance, regional, and executive stakeholders so strategic priorities become actionable plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred.
• Typically 8–10+ years of experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, business strategy, management consulting, product strategy, or a related field.
• Exceptional analytical thinking, structured problem solving, hypothesis-driven decision-making, and business acumen.
• Experience assessing markets, competitive dynamics, customer needs, business models, and technology trends.
• Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-visibility workstreams independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentations and narratives.

• Experience in top-tier consulting, corporate strategy, or a similarly rigorous strategy environment.
