Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: US Remote; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Salary: $40.00–$50.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Build, configure, and maintain API-driven integrations across Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Glean, Google Workspace, and Workato.
• Design Workato recipes and multi-step workflows for case routing, contact enrichment, alerts, and cross-system data reconciliation.
• Develop Google Apps Script automations, Slack bots, slash commands, workflow automations, and notification systems.
• Extend AI agent capabilities by defining tool schemas, connecting agents to live APIs and approved knowledge sources, and enabling approved actions.
• Monitor production automations, investigate incidents, manage failure handling and access controls, and maintain operational documentation.
• Partner with Customer Experience, Support, Operations, and business stakeholders to scope, test, deploy, and improve automation initiatives.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, or systems integration with demonstrated API experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong REST API knowledge, including OAuth, webhooks, pagination, rate limiting, error handling, and debugging with Postman or curl.
• Hands-on experience with Google Apps Script, an iPaaS or workflow automation platform, Salesforce APIs, ServiceNow APIs, and Slack platform development.
• Scripting proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for data transformation and scheduled automation jobs.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; employment sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI agent tooling or integrating Claude/OpenAI APIs.
• Familiarity with Glean, CI/CD pipelines, Google Cloud Platform, Gainsight, JIRA, or similar platforms.
• Experience connecting Salesforce and ServiceNow or working in a B2B SaaS environment supporting Operations, Customer Success, or Support.
