Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote - US

Compensation: Sr Associate Software Engineer: $110K–$138K; Software Engineer I: $130K–$162K.

What you will do

• Design and maintain agentic systems that convert biomedical data sources into reviewed, versioned, reproducible datasets.
• Build LLM-based pipelines for cleaning, normalization, formatting, and quality control across molecular, genomic, clinical, and literature data.
• Evaluate agent architectures, prompting strategies, tools, validation loops, and evaluation harnesses to improve reliability and throughput.
• Collaborate with ML scientists to translate Enchant data requirements into scalable acquisition and processing systems.
• Monitor distributed production pipelines, diagnose failures, and improve operational robustness.
• Document data provenance, processing decisions, quality metrics, and security controls, including sandboxed execution and audit logging.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a computational STEM field, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of industry experience.
• Strong Python engineering skills and experience building production-quality software.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs such as Claude or GPT and agentic patterns including tool use, orchestration, and multi-step reasoning.
• Familiarity with biomedical or chemical data sources and formats such as PDB, UniProt, ChEMBL, SDF/MOL, or FASTA.
• Knowledge of ETL design, data validation, and structured and unstructured data processing at scale.
• Hands-on experience with Python testing frameworks, including pytest fixtures and parametrization.

Nice to have

• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks and evaluation harnesses for LLM-generated code.
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration.
• Knowledge of multimodal biomedical data, large-scale dataset construction, or ML training data curation.
• Experience with agent security practices such as sandboxing, scoped credentials, and protection against prompt injection.
