Chief Architect (AI)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX or Southlake, TX

Salary: USD 285,000–350,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive opportunities

What you will do

• Drive technical strategy and solution design for retail web and mobile platforms within the broader Customer Experience Technology ecosystem.
• Provide architectural guidance for sales, marketing, representative, and customer support platforms.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams in solving complex problems for online customers.
• Review engineering designs, architecture, and code while advancing security, quality, governance, reliability, and DevSecOps practices.
• Lead architecture for client-facing AI capabilities, including conversational assistants, AI-powered search, personalization, and guided digital actions.
• Build engineering teams, mentor engineers, collaborate with Product Management and User Experience, and influence firm-wide technology strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 15+ years of software engineering and architecture experience, including leadership of large-scale digital platforms.
• Experience designing or governing generative AI, conversational AI, AI search, personalization, and client service workflows.
• Strong knowledge of responsible AI, including evaluation, grounding, privacy, observability, auditability, and risk controls for regulated solutions.
• Proficiency in Angular and/or React, API-powered JavaScript applications, REST, and responsive web development.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, platform modernization, observability, reliability engineering, and secure software delivery.
