Principal Engineer (AI)

Location: US Remote; compensation range applies to US-based candidates

Salary: $290,000–$330,000 annually, plus potential equity

What you will do

• Own the overall architecture of the Applied AI stack and the end-to-end patient-facing experience.
• Productionize AI-driven services by improving uptime, reliability, scalability, and operational readiness.
• Establish practices for debugging, observability, migrations, and non-functional system priorities.
• Mentor senior technical leaders and raise engineering standards across the organization.
• Lead through technical ambiguity, remove organizational blockers, and accelerate strategic initiatives.
• Translate customer and product needs into scalable, resilient architectural solutions.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep architectural expertise.
• Proven experience delivering production systems and services at scale.
• Experience owning full-stack service architecture and cross-organization technical strategy.
• Hands-on engineering ability with a focus on robust, scalable, and debuggable systems.
• Some experience with LLM or AI-powered services.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across research, product, and clinical stakeholders.
