TL;DR
Director, Engineering (Nuclear): Leading engineering strategy, integration, and deployment activities across advanced nuclear technology projects with an accent on technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and engineering team leadership. Focus on developing technology roadmaps, managing technical risks, conducting design reviews, and ensuring nuclear quality assurance and licensing requirements.

Location: Rockville, Maryland / Gaithersburg, Maryland; 4 days in office

Salary: $2,137,500–$242,500 per year

What you will do

  • Lead engineering strategy and project integration across nuclear technology development projects from inception through deployment.
  • Establish engineering standards, quality procedures, technology roadmaps, and maturation plans.
  • Direct engineering teams, coordinate resources and tools, and set performance metrics for engineering staff.
  • Partner with project execution, Business Development, and Government Affairs teams to align technical work with business and stakeholder objectives.
  • Lead design reviews, technical risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and solutions to complex engineering problems.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear quality assurance requirements and regulatory and licensing standards while maintaining delivery velocity.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Approximately 15 years of experience in nuclear engineering or a related industry.
  • At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience delivering complex technical projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering project management.
  • Experience developing and maintaining engineering standards and quality processes.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear regulatory requirements and licensing processes.
