GX Satellite Resource Engineer

Location: London, United Kingdom. Site-based role requiring work from a hirify.global office or work location at least 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Configure and operate GX planning tools to monitor satellite resource usage, traffic commitments, and network demand.
• Prepare satellite configurations and frequency planning changes to support projected traffic, leases, and Global Express services.
• Analyze traffic trends and satellite loading, and help automate traffic reporting.
• Assess network capacity for future traffic requirements and potential sales with internal business units.
• Coordinate configuration and frequency plan changes with NOC, RAN Operations, Satellite Control Centre, and Lease Operations teams.
• Provide out-of-hours on-call operational support.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent in mobile communications, telematics, or mobile and satellite communications.
• Understanding of VSAT systems, including iDirect and Gilat.
• Strong knowledge of RF, analogue and digital communications, link budget analysis, and transmission plans.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Good PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, server-client architectures, Windows/Linux operating systems, and database environments.
• Ability to work from the London site at least 60% of the standard five-day workweek.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in communications engineering, preferably satellite communications.
• Experience in mission-critical, real-time operational engineering or satellite communications.
• Experience with Google Platform technologies, including BigQuery.
• Python and/or Matlab scripting experience.
