Electronics Engineer – Design and Verification (Quantum)

What you will do

• Lead testing and verification of integrated electronic circuits and subsystems.
• Design, build, and test analogue and digital electronics using industry-standard CAD tools and test equipment.
• Develop PCB schematics and layouts, test systems, verification plans, and technical documentation.
• Support proof-of-concept and feasibility work, project planning, risk management, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and physicists to build test systems for quantum computers.
• Develop an understanding of the firmware and software used to control quantum computers.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of practical, hands-on electronics design experience.
• Experience taking complex systems from concept through delivery and developing and executing test plans.
• Strong analogue design, PCB design, low-noise design, manufacturing-process, verification, and debugging experience.
• Experience working with suppliers and contractors and producing thorough technical documentation.
• At least a 2.1 BEng/BSc degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Nice to have

• Background in systems engineering, research, metrology, or instrumentation.
• Understanding of signal integrity, high-speed digital design, and EMC.
• Experience with C, Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
• Team or project management experience and a pragmatic approach to design decisions.
