Senior Hardware Engineer (Radar)

Location: Enfield, United Kingdom; occasional travel within the UK may be required, sometimes at short notice.

What you will do

• Design high-speed digital circuits and simulate analogue sections for electronic assemblies.
• Develop multilayer PCB designs, layouts, and signal-integrity solutions using CAD tools such as OrCAD and Altium.
• Translate system requirements into board-level designs and create test specifications, circuit descriptions, and verification plans.
• Test, verify, troubleshoot, and support new and existing electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Interface with manufacturing on hardware test solutions and contribute across the full product development lifecycle.
• Break down technical tasks, identify key risks, participate in design reviews, and maintain configuration control.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in electronics or a related subject.
• Experience working with similar electronic equipment and CAD tools for circuit, PCB design, and simulation.
• Experience with FPGA development using VHDL or Embedded C, MATLAB programming, and scripts for configuring and testing designs.
• Knowledge of multilayer PCB design, layout, and signal integrity.
• Good written and verbal English, strong organisation, time management, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Evidence of delivering high-quality, right-first-time designs on schedule and within budget.

Nice to have

• Experience with RF interfaces and associated design.
• Knowledge of OrCAD, Altium, and SiliconExpert for managing component obsolescence and lead-time risks.
