TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer, Solid Rocket Motors (Aerospace/Manufacturing): Building and testing solid rocket motor systems for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles with an accent on energetic materials, manufacturing processes, quality control, and flight hardware integration. Focus on coordinating high-consequence testing, developing initial production processes, and improving operational efficiency in a hands-on facility environment.

Location: Full-time onsite position at the Midland, Texas facility, United States. Access to export-controlled information may require compliance with applicable U.S. Government eligibility and authorization requirements.

What you will do

  • Plan and coordinate fast-paced, high-consequence testing operations.
  • Batch and mix volatile energetic precursor chemicals used in solid rocket motor manufacturing.
  • Create testing and quality-control measurements, verify flight hardware, and document results.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to turn concepts into manufacturable hardware and mature assembly and integration processes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, regulated documentation, complex diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Support workflow planning, site upgrades, maintenance, production efficiency, and initial manufacturing runs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in aerospace, manufacturing, materials, or mechanical engineering, or physics.
  • At least 3 years of experience in aerospace or energetics, supporting technical operations.
  • Experience building complex, highly energetic aerospace components.
  • Experience with CAD design of mechanical components, such as SolidWorks, NX, or similar tools, and knowledge of statics, dynamics, and thermal principles.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing metrology, quality-assurance tools, and related processes, plus demonstrated direct or indirect leadership.
  • Ability to work onsite at the Midland, Texas facility and access export-controlled information in accordance with applicable U.S. requirements.

Nice to have

  • Research and development or high-speed production experience involving flight hardware.
  • Hands-on experience constructing solid rocket motors or similar energetic systems.
  • Experience with hand, power, and fabrication tools and with manufacturing or repairing intricate testing systems.
  • Familiarity with SVN, Confluence, JIRA, and project management.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, focus, attention to detail, and adaptability in changing assignments.
