Gas Engineer

Location: MA-Auburn, United States; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required, including field observations and visits to gas facilities and operating districts.

Salary: $100,490–$111,660 per year, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Plan, design, schedule, and support the construction, operation, and maintenance of gas distribution and pressure-regulating systems.
• Design regulator stations, telemetry systems, regulator sets, uprates, distribution main projects, and culvert crossings.
• Prepare site layouts and documentation for procurement, permitting, and construction; specify and procure materials and equipment.
• Develop field procedures and verify compliance with company standards, applicable codes, and regulations.
• Coordinate construction activities with customers, contractors, municipalities, state authorities, and internal departments.
• Support construction oversight, gas control coordination, purchasing reviews, recordkeeping, and emergency restoration efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
• Three or more years of related experience; engineering design and gas experience are preferred.
• Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance practices, governmental codes and regulations, welding and fusing principles, and environmental requirements.
• Familiarity with MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Valid motor vehicle operator license and availability for travel, field observations, emergency restoration assignments, and occasional or significant driving.
