Engineer Technician: Injection Molding

Location: Richmond Manufacturing, United States. The role is based at a primary workplace such as a factory and may require domestic and international travel for training.

Salary: $31.60 per hour; starting hourly rate listed as $36.85.

What you will do

• Optimize injection molding processes for safety, quality, productivity, cost, OEE, cycle time, scrap, uptime, capability, and repeatability.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex issues involving molds, machines, materials, automation, auxiliary equipment, and process variation.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to restore process stability and production performance.
• Support mold qualification, requalification, process validation, mold testing, engineering changes, transfers, launches, and production ramp-ups.
• Coach Technicians, Setters, Operators, and Production Team Members on scientific molding and technical best practices.
• Conduct process audits and maintain mold cards, work instructions, process documentation, and operating standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of advanced injection molding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in scientific molding, process optimization, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with mold qualification, process validation, production launches, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of statistical process control, manufacturing data analysis, Microsoft Excel, and manufacturing systems.
• Associate degree, technical diploma, certification, or an equivalent combination of education and advanced injection molding experience.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
