Maintenance Technician - Injection (Plastics Manufacturing)

Location: Philly - Ontario, CA, United States; onsite plant-based role

Salary: $31.79–$46.10 per hour

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair injection molders, blow molders, fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
• Maintain industrial control systems, facility equipment, chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis, and water filtration equipment.
• Modify, lubricate, operate, and maintain production equipment according to defined processes.
• Document repairs, work orders, parts usage, and material consumption throughout each shift.
• Collaborate with operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, senior maintenance technicians, and management to resolve recurring equipment issues.

Requirements

• Four years of experience in a field or similar maintenance environment, in the position, or managing people/projects; experience may combine work experience and education.
• High school diploma required; an associate degree in manufacturing, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process instrumentation schematics.
• Experience with shop equipment and precision measuring tools, including presses, grinders, drill presses, mills, lathes, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments, work independently, train others, and follow plant safety procedures.
• Own toolbox and basic tools required.

Nice to have

• Six years of experience in maintenance, the position, or managing people/projects.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics.
• Experience with VFDs, servo drives and motors, PLC I/O cards, safety modules, industrial communication systems, Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment.
• Experience with HVAC, chillers, air compressors, plastics processing, welding, fabrication, 480VAC and 24VDC systems.
