Senior Engineer, Manufacturing (Injection Molding)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, United States of America; may require up to 10% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Plan and direct injection molding and equipment assignments supporting process capability, uptime, cycle time, and yield.
• Lead troubleshooting of equipment, systems, and processes to improve molding run-ability and prevent product nonconformance.
• Develop equipment, process, safety, and component specifications and analyze vendor proposals.
• Qualify new equipment and conduct vendor and site acceptance testing.
• Train operations engineers and technicians to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies and support breakdown repairs, continuous improvement, and environmental objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or university degree required; an engineering degree is preferred. An advanced degree is preferred.
• At least four years of relevant professional experience; six or more years preferred.
• Experience with injection molding process and equipment development, project management, construction, installation, and qualification.
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and plastic processing and molding technology.
• Ability to understand and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics and PLC ladder diagrams.
• Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Netstal, Sumitomo, Arburg, or Engel equipment.
• Knowledge of government regulatory requirements and experience in an FDA environment.
