Sustainment Engineer / Tooling Engineer II (Injection Molding)

Location: Onsite in Santa Ana, California, 5 days per week; up to 10% occasional travel to domestic and international vendors and hirify.global locations. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $78,000–$106,000 per year

What you will do

• Maintain and optimize a high-volume global fleet of injection molding tool sets.
• Support the design, fabrication, and qualification of replacement tooling.
• Investigate production bottlenecks and supplier quality deviations through root cause analysis.
• Create and maintain SOPs and internal workflows for physical asset sustainment.
• Identify data-driven improvements for products, equipment, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Quality, Purchasing, Continuous Improvement, and Manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience designing, maintaining, and selecting materials for injection-molded components and tooling.
• Experience with plastic injection mold tool design and proficiency in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD platform.
• Hands-on experience with ultrasonic welding processes.
• U.S. work authorization is required; the employer uses E-Verify.
