TL;DR
Senior Supplier Development Engineer (Aerospace): Leading supplier capability, capacity, readiness, and risk assessments for military aircraft programs with an accent on APQP, industrialization, NPI implementation, and work transfers. Focus on building supplier development plans, closing high-risk actions with verified evidence, and coordinating manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and program stakeholders.

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States; 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off; 20%–35% travel required.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Lead supplier capability, capacity, readiness, and execution-risk assessments for assigned suppliers and programs.
  • Build and track supplier development plans with owners, milestones, recovery actions, and closure evidence.
  • Drive supplier readiness for new product introduction, new supplier onboarding, and work transfers.
  • Coordinate program, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and business-readiness inputs when supplier maturity is below expectations.
  • Maintain visibility of open NPI supplier risks through dashboards and weekly operating reviews.
  • Improve supplier execution across electro-mechanical assemblies, electronics, supplier-owned IP, and machining-related activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years of manufacturing engineering or supply chain manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience with supplier development, APQP, industrialization, manufacturing readiness, or operations improvement.
  • Ability to assess process maturity, capability evidence, supplier execution risk, and readiness.
  • Strong project-management, action-tracking, communication, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Torrance, California, with 20%–35% travel and access to U.S. export-controlled information.
